Corporatocrasy

We were told the United States was the land of the free

And the ones we elect are the ones that we can believe

As they advertise themselves on the news on tv

And their campaigne promises are a promise that they'll keep

But the Pac's they serve will decide what laws are gonna be

James Hetfield told us all that justice is for sale

And if you want a Trump pardon send a million in the mail

And the founding father's words are another fairy tale

That they told us all in school but you can see that they failed

Unlimited contributions say the evil will prevail

Knowing we're almost free

Living in misery

They decided for me

In a

Corporatocracy

Knowing we're almost free

Living in misery

They decide what will be

In a

Corporatocracy

We'll just gerrymander if the blacks get uppity

They can protest all they want

They won't have their liberty

They aren't the kind of people we invite over for tea

We'll keep locking them up and  then we'll throw away the key

Their public defender's say just cop to any plea

Knowing we're almost free

Living in misery

They decided for me

In a

Corporatocracy

Knowing we're almost free

Living in misery

They decide who will lead

In a

Corporatocracy

I'm sick of it all

They all wear suits

They count their loot

As they're stealing it all

Rotten all

They play their golf

And dance a waltz

At the million a plate

Costume ball

Behind a tower's wall

I'd make a call but they'll never answer me

It's just an exercise in futility

Trapped in a world that I wish could never be

Brought to you by

The Twenty-worst-century

Oh no
